Our Vision

"We of Grace Community Fellowship believe that, being led by the Lord through personal relationships and the basic Christian community experienced in small group cells and large group corporate worship, we will see many people in our local area come to Christ and be discipled, encouraged ,and cared for, to the extent that the area, state, nation, and the world will be impacted by Christ by His people as we live out the great commandment and the great commission all for the glory of God."

Our Mission

The Lord Jesus Christ was not vague about what His church should do. The New Testament is full of details concerning the daily life of the church. However, there is one mission that encompasses everything else. Our mission comes from our purpose. We glorify God by doing His will, and He has made His will clear to us by leaving us with a mission to be accomplished.

"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

Simply stated, our mission is to make disciples. The process of making disciples involves two things: obedience on our part, and supernatural work on God's part.

*       Reaching the Lost

            We are called to make a difference in this world. We are called to be salt and light. We can only be salt and light if we are different from the drab, dark world around us. We are penetrating our area in order to reach the lost with the truth of God's love in word, and especially in action. We want to bring these lost people to know Christ, and into Grace Community Fellowship to experience the Basic Christian Community. Through that Basic Christian Community we see their lives be permanently changed, to the point where Jesus Christ is the priority of life.

*       Building the Church

            We recognize that Jesus is the head of the church. That means that He leads and we follow. Everything Grace Community Fellowship does is determined by our mission and depends on the leading of God's Spirit. Anything that does not contribute to accomplishing our mission will not be done. Our priority is making disciples through the church, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

*       Equipping Every Member for Ministry

            Our mission belongs to every individual in the church. According to the Word of God, the work of ministry is to be done by all the members of the church (Ephesians 4:11-12), not just the pastors. We are equipping every member to minister to the lost through building relationships with them and showing them love in action. Together we are reaching the lost in our neighborhoods, families, friendships, and work places.

            We are also equipping every member to minister to those in the church, building each other up through ministering to each one's needs in the power of the Holy Spirit. Each member, young and old, has a responsibility to the rest of the body and is encouraged to live a lifestyle of ministry in the context of the Basic Christian Community.

Our Strategy

            Our strategy involves building leaders who will be able to build other leaders, carrying on a process of mentoring. As leaders are built, we are being prepared for growth by reaching out to the world around us. We are also able to care for the needs of those who come into the Basic Christian Community.

*       Building Leaders

            Part of our commitment to our mission of making disciples is to prepare men for leadership. God has determined that in the church, there should be a shared leadership among spiritually qualified men. These men must be trained and prepared through a process. This involves two things: desire, and opportunity. Any man who has a God-given desire to become a spiritual leader of Grace Community Fellowship will first be taken through a process of training. This process involves an equipping track, one-on-one mentoring, group training, and other tools when necessary. Once a man has been proven to have the character and preparation for spiritual leadership, he will be given the opportunity.

*       Building Bridges

            There is a definite difference between a person who knows Jesus Christ and one who does not. A large part of our mission involves bringing people to know Christ. To do that effectively involves building bridges between our world and theirs. These bridges are built through relationships. Everyone in Grace Community Fellowship is challenged to build relationships with those in their life who don't know Christ. These could be family members, friends, neighbors, work colleagues, or anyone without Christ who crosses the natural path of our life. We use the term oikos to refer to these people, which is a Greek word used in the Bible to mean "household". Our oikos are the people in our circle of relationships who don't know Jesus Christ.

            We don't expect people to come to us, but instead, we believe it is our responsibility to go and take the loving Basic Christian Community to them.  This is done through each member reaching out in the power of the Holy Spirit.
